The latest episode of World Trigger was postponed in Japan due to news coverage of an earthquake that struck northeastern Japan late on Saturday night. The official Twitter account for the series announced that the delayed episode, which is the 6th episode of the second season, will instead air in Japan a week later on February 20 at 25:30 (effectively, 1:30 AM on February 21).

The earthquake, which registered a magnitude of 7.3 and was felt from Hokkaido to Aichi prefectures, was one of the largest to occur since the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake. Coverage of the event overtook Japanese TV as more information was discovered throughout the late hours, which resulted in no deaths and 155 people injured. Tracks for the Tohoku Shinkansen have been damaged and may take up to 10 days to be repaired and be restored to full services.
Crunchyroll is streaming World Trigger as it airs in Japan.
