The official YouTube channel for voice actress Tomori Kusunoki has posted a six-minute lyric video for her first digital single song “Akatoki” (literally means The time between midnight and dawn) released on December 22. The clip features vivid illustrations by orie, an illustrator who Kusunoki herself requested to collaborate with for the first time. It conveys a striking world depicted in rich colors to a warm melody.

Kusunoki won the special prize in the fifth Anistoteles audition held by Sony Music Artists in 2016, then made her professional voice actress debut as the role of a junior high school girl in the TV anime Eromanga Sensei in the following year. Her first major anime role was Hazuki Kagimura in Märchen Mädchen (2018), then she has voiced Llenn in Sword Art Online Alternative Gun Gale Online (2018) and Melida Angel in Assassins Pride (2019). She is also a member of the Love Live! franchise’s voice actress unit Nijigasaki High School Idol Club and is now playing Setsuna Yuki in its ongoing TV anime.
She made her solo singer debut from SACRA MUSIC (Sony Music Labels) with her first EP “Hamidashimono” (literally means misfit) in August 2020. The title song was featured as the ED theme for the TV anime The Misfit of Demon King Academy, in which she was also cast as one of its main heroines, Misha Necron.
Her second EP is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2021.
