Knights of Sidonia: Ai Tsumugu Hoshi Film Trailer Depicts Fierce Battle for The Survival of Human Race

 

 

The official website site for the anime adaptation project based on Tsutomu Nihei’s sci-fi manga Sidonia no Kishi / Knights of Sidonia announced today that its all-new feature film Sidonia no Kishi: Ai Tsumugu Hoshi (Knights of Sidonia: A Star that Weaves Love) is officially set to be released in Japan on May 14, 2021.

 

The site has also posted a 60-second full trailer that depicts a fierce battle for the survival of the human race in space featuring the powerful soundtrack music by Shuji Katayama (The Saga of Tanya the Evil). It has been confirmed that the film is the final installment of the Knights of Sidonia anime series produced by Polygon Pictures.

 

 

 

 

 

Limited advance tickets with two types of figures (You can choose from Tsumugi Shiraui or Tsugumori Custom 2) will go on sale at the theaters on January 23.

 

 

 

And four new voice cast members who are cast as the Morito/Garde pilots are announced:

 

  • Totaro Yamano: Yuma Uchida
  • Kairi Hamagata: Yuuto Uemura
  • Iroha Hashine: Inori Minase
  • Itsuki Hanma: Miho Okasaki

 

 

 

 


 

The manga’s first TV anime adaptation was aired for 12 episodes from April to June 2014, then the second season Knights of Sidonia: War of the Ninth Planet followed with another 12 episodes from April to June 2015.

 

Hiroyuki Seshita (Ajin general director) serves as chief director of the film, alongside director Tadahiro “Tady” Yoshihira and co-screenplay writers Sadayuki Murai and Tetsuya Yamada. Polygon Pictures again works on anime production. In addition, the manga author Nihei joins the film project as the general supervisor.
