Today, exactly three years after the start of the TV anime Katana Maidens ~ Toji No Miko in Japan on January 5, 2018, it is confirmed that an all-new recitation play titled Toji no Miko: Seika Houtou is now in the works. In Japanese, Seika means “A crisp summer day with a clear sky,” while Houtou means “To offer a light before gods or Buddha.”
It will tell a sequel story set seven months after the TV anime, and the TV anime’s six main voice cast members – Kaede Hondo (Kanami Eto), Saori Onishi (Hiyori Jujo), Azumi Waki (Mai Yanase), Hina Kino (Sayaka Itomi), Risae Matsuda (Kaoru Mashiko), and Eri Suzuki (Ellen Kohagura) are all confirmed to return. The script is provided by the TV anime’s series composition writer Tatsuya Takahashi.
It is planned as a new work of READPIA, KADOKAWA’s recitation play brand. The performance schedule and other details will be announced later.
A teaser visual drawn by the original character designer Yoshinori Shizuma is posted.
