Holo smiles gently as she holds wheat in her hands. She’s sculpted to look elegant and beautiful. Her tail has a sense of presence, her hair flutters in the wind, and her brightly colored floral accessories were made with care.

◇Her Costume was Designed by Heian Jyuho, a Craftsman Specializing in Seasonal Japanese Dolls
The design of her outfit was produced by Heian Jyuho, a craftsman who specializes in seasonal Japanese dolls. The kimono was made so that tall, thin Holo could wear it beautifully, by combining shapes that will make her tail look like it’s flowing and having the hem shaped as though she’s dancing Japanese buyo dance. This figure is designed to look as if it’s been taken from a moment in time when she’s dancing. Holo’s light demeanor and dance-like appearance show off her inherent elegance.

◇Fusing the Series’ Worldview with Traditional Japanese Aesthetics
The fabric of her kimono has been dyed using a traditional method called “kata-yuzen.”
The design was made with motifs of all the seasons as a wise wolf watches over the harvest. It’s been dyed purple, a color that’s been considered noble since ancient times, for a calm yet vibrant kimono fabric.
The fabric was dyed by the Kyoto yuzen factory, Nishimura Shouji Shoten, which has been in business for almost 200 years. This fabric used 10 plates to create rich colors that could not be created by machine. It was dyed by hand with care.

◇An Obi Belt Made Using Gold Brocade Colored with Japanese Traditional Techniques
The obi belt is made using gold brocade produced by Kyoto’s traditional Bando Shoten. It’s white with a flower pattern woven into it. By adding a light lime green, it pairs well with the calm kimono colors.
